That’s exactly why I started Artisan Foil Co. I wanted to create a collection of genuine leather accessories people would actually use every day. Gold foil initials, names and monograms were the obvious next step.

Why Gold Foil?

I’ll let you into a little secret. This isn’t my first gold foil stamping business.

Many years ago, after backpacking around Europe, I came home without a career to fall back on. So I bought a gold foil stamping machine and started personalising Christmas cards and diaries.

Fast forward forty years and I’m getting closer to retirement. I wanted a hobby that could make a few dollars without feeling like I was going to work every morning.

Next thing I knew, I owned another gold foil stamping machine.

Even after all these years, I still enjoy that moment when you peel the foil away and see the finished result.

So here I am, doing it all over again.

A lot of our products are things you don’t realise you’ll need until you own one.

Take a passport holder for example. You could just carry your passport, but I think it deserves more respect than that. It will probably be the most important thing you take with you on your travels. With continued use, passports start to look a bit daggy. Pop it into a leather passport holder and it’ll help protect it for the ten years it’s designed to last.

I only select the best of our leather products for personalisation before stamping.

Before it’s wrapped, I inspect every item. If the monogramming isn’t perfect, I do it again. I’d much rather toss it in the bin than send something I wouldn’t be proud to put my name to.
