A couple of initials are enough to make the tray personal without making it look too busy.

You can also add a full name, monogram, short date or suitable company logo. The design sits within the smooth section in the bottom of the tray.

This is personalisation applied directly to the leather. It is not a plastic sticker or colourful print sitting on top.

If you want to use your own artwork, send it to us before ordering. We will check whether it is suitable. Fine detail can get lost on natural leather, particularly when a design was originally created for a much larger space.

Gold Foil Stamping

Gold foil is our favourite option on this tray.

The dark brown leather gives the foil enough contrast to stand out, but the finished result still looks restrained. A couple of gold initials in the centre is usually all it needs.

We apply the foil directly to the smoother leather using heat and pressure. As natural leather varies slightly from piece to piece, the impression may have small differences in colour and texture.

That’s part of the finish. Not a printing fault.

What Fits in a Leather Valet Tray?

The tray measures approximately 21.5 × 16 cm. That is enough room for the things most people carry without requiring half the bedside table.

You could use it for a watch, wallet, car key and loose change. Or perhaps jewellery, sunglasses and earbuds. Pens tend to find their way into it as well.

Place it on a dresser, beside the bed, near the front door or on your office desk.

Some people call these valet trays. Others search for a leather catch-all tray or custom trinket dish. They are all talking about much the same thing: somewhere tidy to put small items before they disappear.

Genuine Leather, Including the Marks

This is a natural leather product.

The exact colour, grain and texture will vary from one tray to another. You may notice lighter areas, darker areas or small markings in the hide. That is part of the material.

The centre has a smoother finish and is surrounded by a decorative heat-pressed line. It may look stitched in some photographs, but it is not a stitched centre panel.

Around the outside, the leather has a more textured appearance. Together, the two finishes give the tray a slightly rugged look without making it feel rough or unfinished.

Natural leather also changes with use. The colour may deepen where it is handled, while small marks gradually become part of its character. That is simply what happens to leather as it ages.

Snap the Corners Together

Metal snap buttons hold the four corners in place.

Once fastened, the leather sides lift to form the tray and prevent coins, keys and jewellery from rolling onto the floor.

Undo the snap buttons and the tray can fold flatter. This makes it easier to pack in a suitcase or store when it is not being used.

Take it travelling and you have somewhere familiar to leave your hotel key, watch and wallet. It is a small thing, but it beats checking every drawer in the room on departure morning.

This tray makes a good gift for someone who is difficult to buy for.

It suits birthdays, Father’s Day, Christmas, graduation, retirement or a new job. Leather is also the traditional gift for a 3rd anniversary.

Initials are the safest choice when you want the finished tray to remain understated. A name or date makes it more personal. Company logos can work well for staff gifts and client gifts too.

It is practical, long-lasting and unlikely to be pushed into a cupboard beside six novelty mugs.

Leather Valet Tray Details

The tray is made from genuine cowhide leather and measures approximately 21.5 × 16 cm when assembled.

It has a smooth central area, a heat-pressed decorative border and textured leather around the sides. Four metal snap buttons hold its shape.

The tray arrives without the contents shown in the photographs. Sadly, the watch and car are not included.

Care Instructions

Give the tray an occasional wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

If something is spilled, blot it reasonably quickly. Do not soak the leather or attack it with disinfectant, alcohol wipes or household cleaning spray.

Keep it away from strong heat and prolonged moisture.

A suitable leather conditioner can be used from time to time, although it may darken the colour. Try it on a less visible area first.

Small changes in the surface are expected as the leather ages with wear. They are not usually something that needs fixing.
