A Durable Full-Grain Leather Keyring

We came across plenty of cheap keyrings while choosing this range.

Some were leather-look. Some were described as leather until you read the details and discovered they were PU. Others simply looked a bit ordinary.

Our first leather keyring is crafted from full-grain leather with antique-style hardware. It includes two rings for your keys and a swivel clip that can be attached to a bag or belt loop.

Full-grain leather retains the natural top layer of the hide. Its fibres give the leather much of its strength, grain and durability. It is a popular choice for leather accessories that are meant to be handled regularly and made to last.

The edges have a natural finish rather than a glossy coating. It gives the keyring a more rugged appearance, which we rather like.

Full-grain leather won’t be perfectly uniform. Colour, grain and small surface marks can change from one piece to the next.

That isn’t poor craftsmanship. It’s leather.

Foil Personalisation Rather Than Key Ring Engraving

We use foil rather than engraving on this collection.

Engraving cuts into the surface of the leather. Foil adds colour on top and creates a different finish altogether. Gold adds a little elegance without making the keyring look delicate or overly fancy.

Each name or initial is positioned and applied by hand. This lets us check the spacing and make sure the finished leather personalised keyring looks balanced.

Caring for Your Leather Key Ring

Leather is durable, but it doesn’t enjoy being soaked or left baking in a hot car.

Natural oils from your hands will gradually soften the leather and may deepen its colour. That change is part of the charm of a quality leather keyring.

If it gets wet, wipe it gently and allow it to dry naturally. Harsh cleaners can cause the finish to fade, while excessive heat may dry the leather and encourage it to crack.

Please don’t attack it with a hairdryer.

Your keys may survive the experience, but the leather probably won’t appreciate it.
